How to receive a Pell Grant?

Pell Grant

Ok. I applied for a Pell Grant for my college. But, the financial advisor denied it because both of my parents filed for the head of household in their tax return. Is there another way for me to receive the Pell Grant without them both filing for head of household. They also don’t want to file joint returns.

Both of your parents can’t file head of household when they do their tax forms. They need to do an amended tax return to fix this, once that is completed, you take the information from both parents tax forms and correct the information, (income, taxes, and exemptions) your fafsa application on line. Add the information together as if they filed together. (Add the tax amount on both, add the exemptions on both amounts, add the AGI on both)
    hope this helps.

They don’t have to file a joint return for you to get pell, they just need to correct this obvious tax filing mistake.
