Seriously, why would it be so great to give a bunch of 2 and 3 loss teams a chance to get lucky and steal a title? I don’t know anyone outside of St. Louis who really enjoyed last year’s World Series, and I just don’t see why college sports need to be treated like the pros. Last year worked out pretty well, and Florida/OSU seems about right this time.
If UM/OSU wouldn’t have been the last game for both teams, I think they might have gotten a rematch. I agree that Tressel was playing it safe by not voting; it would’ve been a no-win situation for him to vote, IMO. His vote probably wouldn’t swing who OSU faced one way or the other, but it would’ve been good bulletin board material for whatever team the BCS decided if it didn’t match his vote.
To me, the absence of a playoff makes the regular season the de facto playoff. I like that. It makes every game meaningful, because a team can’t afford to slip up even one time. If there is a playoff, the intensity of the regular season would inevitably be lessened to some degree.

I’m a Junior at Amador Valley high school in Pleasanton California. I want to get a scholarship to play football, but walking on would not be a problem for me. I want to get noticed by a school and I’ve been filling out those recruitment questionaires. I don’t have a good enough grades to go straight to a 4-year univ., so I would need to go to a junior college first. My question is how should I go about getting noticed by universities (specifically Pac-10), and making them want me to transfer to their school and play football after a year or 2 of junior college.

Apart from what’s the website, does anyone know anything or has successfully been through the nsr for soccer or any sport. It is a scouting company that i recently got accepted into and i am looking for a different opinion on it before i join. It is $5000 to enter but they say they will get you a scholarship in a US college. Can anyone verify this from their own experiences or know anything about it? It operates mainly in the US but has expanded to the world including Australia. Any advice on what i should do?
