There are some websites you can go to, and apply for college, but first you should research the colleges you are interested in. And if you are looking for scholarships try this website!
There should be foreign exchange programs available at your local college. So you would technically be enrolled in The University of Madrid (or wherever you live) and would study at NYU (or wherever you want to study).
target the Universities/colleges you are interested in and ask for admittance forms. It is more important to decide what/where you want to go based on career goals. Investigate according to the field(s) you are interested in. All colleges and Universities have web sites. Check it out and good luck.
First find out what your going to majoring in (health care, law, etc), then get a listing on the schools that have those majors. You can apply to them on-line some schools have an application fee others don’t. You also need to question on or off campus housing. Do you want to stay at the school or on your own. Finally you have to find out if there are jobs available in the location, I’m sure you’re going to want to work. Make sure that whatever school you go to, its in a good area and the people are very welcoming, especially if you aren’t familiar with the U.S.
I am a recent college graduate from the US. When my older brothers came here from overseas they went to a college with “Interlink” program. I know that is a popular program for many foreign students here. It helped facilitate their transition and provided them with guidence prior to and after their arrival. However I’m not sure if it mostly targets non-english speakers or not.
